Enter the "Booksellers Best Travel Writing Contest"

To celebrate ten years of award-winning publishing and thank booksellers everywhere for putting us on the map, Travelers' Tales announces a "Booksellers Best Travel Writing Contest" for booksellers and bookstore employees.

If you work at or own a bookstore, send us your most memorable true travel experience and win cash and publication! Stories can be from domestic or international travel, and in our usual fashion, we're looking for something inspiring or funny or horrible or whimsical or transforming or romantic or all of the above. We highly recommend that you read our recent book The Best Travelers' Tales 2004 (ISBN: 1-932361-02-2) to see what's catching our fancy these days. No minimum order required, but please stock up on
The Best Travelers' Tales 2004 and other Travelers' Tales titles.

Prizes

1. Grand Prize Winner: $500, a full set of Travelers' Tales books, and publication both on the Travelers' Tales website and in an upcoming anthology.

2. Second Place: $250 and two dozen Travelers' Tales books of your choice and publication on the Travelers' Tales website.

3. Third Place: $100 and a dozen Travelers' Tales books of your choice and publication on the Travelers' Tales website.

4. Five Runners-up: Ten Travelers' Tales books of your choice and publication on the Travelers' Tales website.

Who Can Enter

Any employee or owner of a bookstore.

Deadline

June 1, 2004. Winners will be announced at the Book Passage Travel Writers Conference (Corte Madera, CA) in August 2004.

All entries must include the name and phone number of the bookstore you work in and your job or title. Stories will not be returned nor can we confirm receipt beyond an automatic email response. By entering the contest you agree that Travelers' Tales may use your entry for all promotional purposes relating to the contest and Travelers' Tales books, including posting on our website or others. Winners agree that Travelers' Tales may publish their stories online or in future books without further compensation.
