Fours Seasons—Which One?

Dear Penny Pincher,

I am planning a vacation to either Four Seasons Dallas or Four Seasons Scottsdale. Have you been in any of those? If so, which one do you recommend? And Why?

Hi Carl,

I have actually stayed at both properties. My recommendation depends on what you’re looking for. The Four Seasons Dallas has an understated elegance with the hospitability and charm of Texas. It is also conveniently located near a number of cultural events and fine restaurants. During my visit, the hotel offered airport transfer service in a finely appointed Lincoln Town Car and Navigator. Also the Four Seasons in Dallas is in the final stages of a comprehensive renovation of their spa. From what I understand, the new spa will be quite extraordinary. Completion of the spa is scheduled for late April or early May.

The Four Seasons Scottsdale at Troon is nice and has a charming Southwest desert feel. However, it is not as well situated to cultural events or restaurants as is the Four Seasons Dallas.

Both properties have fabulous golf courses. The Prestigious Bryon Nelson Tournament is held at the Dallas Resort.

You might also consider what time of year you will be traveling as weather will be a concern. The Arizona summers are hot while humidity can be a concern in Dallas, although, I stayed at the Dallas property in early July and it was not too bad.

Pricing for both properties is about the same. The low rate for Scottsdale from May thru July is $150 per night, while Dallas has a rate of $185 per night with the third night free, effectively reducing the price to $123 per night.

Whichever, resort you choose, you will no doubt receive the high quality service expected of the Four Seasons.
