A Wonderful Book
Good day, Mr. Widzer. I am Dr. Stanislav Moline. First of all thank you for writing wonderful book, "The Penny Pincher's Passport to Luxury Travel." Your advice has helped my family to enjoy travel.
I am writing today to express my full agreement with you on need of de-Wal-Martization of airline industry. I am Chairman Preferred with US Airways. I have flown with them through last two bankruptcies despite my friends' advice to switch to other companies. I want comfort on my travel: fast check in, priority security lines, airport clubs, first class assigned seats, food, entertainment, and smiling helpful employees. My wife and I agree to pay more in order to get more. I do not fly Southwest despite their lower prices, smiling employees, and fast luggage transfer because of absence of first class seats, assigned seats, food, and other perks. However, I worry that US Airways will go Southwest's way. They have recently changed their Dividend Miles program, which disappointed many frequent fliers that I know.
My wife and I would greatly appreciate if you could talk to US Airways' and other legacy carriers' executives to pursue them to start competing on higher level.
