Loyalty counts

I am travelling to Istanbul with my wife from Toronto with Lufthansa. Any possibilities they could upgrade me to business class?

Today it's all about the fare you paid, your level of loyalty, and the prospects of your future loyalty.

With that said, upgrading on Lufthansa out of Toronto is tough. I suggest you call the airline in advance and ask what opportunities exist for an upgrade. If that doesn't lead anywhere ask the gate agent at the airport if they need to upgrade anyone due to the coach section being full. Other then that you might consider cashing-in air miles as that is a long flight.
