Antique Shopping in Northern France

i'm a fearless shopper so, my question is serious: WHERE CAN ONE GO IN NORTH FRANCE TO BUY ANTIQUES IN OPEN MARKETS.

Hitch up your hiking shoes to score a find at La Braderie, Sept 1-2, 2007, in Lille, France. This annual flea market is 48 hours of non-stop hunting over 200 km of pavement always during the first week in September. And while you’re there, if you like mussels, indulge in moules-frîtes (mussels and chips), then add your shells to the growing piles outside the restaurant.

Most markets start early morning at 8 or 9 AM and go to about 1 PM. Most also have Christmas markets in December. Check out exact times in various journals: Aladin, Le Chineur, Chinambule, Antiquités Brocante, or La vie du Collectionneur.

I’ve listed city flea markets (alphabetically below) and regular markets because often they have bric-a-brac mixed in with food stalls. If you only have time for one, I’d check out the La Braderie in Lille. In Paris, scrounge for finds at Puces de St Ouen.
