AZF, the group that threatened to bomb the French rail network if the government refused to pay a 5 million euro ransom, withdrew its threat saying there were no more bombs planted on the system. French train officials conducted a search of the entire rail system and found no explosives, but the day before AZFÂ’s announcement workers discovered and defused a bomb on the main line between Paris and Switzerland. Another search of the entire rail system has been ordered, but not yet carried out.
