In an effort to crackdown on illegal gaming, the Greece government put a country-wide ban on all electronic games. If you were caught playing with toys like gameboys or even the computer games on your mobile phones or pc laptops, you’d be fined more than $200. However a recent ruling has lifted the ban. The English Greek newspaper Kathimerini printed a statement saying that “It is permissible to set up and use gaming devices in areas used exclusively for habitation or residence, provided the use of the devices does not result in any form of financial gain for players or third parties.” This means that tourists will have no problem playing games at cyber cafes or bringing along their X-Box.
