It’s too early to tell what effect the election of Ehud Barak as prime minister will have on travel to Israel, but it can’t help but be a positive influence. His intentions to carry on the work of assassinated Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and revitalize the peace process with Palestinians will likely reduce tensions in the region, improving conditions not just for Israelis and Palestinians but also for foreign visitors.
