Overloaded, speeding buses have become such a hazard in Kenya that President Moi ordered police to set up roadblocks to slow them down. The move was spurred by two recent crashes in which some 140 people were killed. The most recent incident occurred on the road between Nairobi and Mombasa when a bus was crushed between two trucks when trying to pass at night. In the previous incident a bus spun out of control and into the path of another. Consider other modes of transportation, and don’t drive the highways at night.
