The Moroccan government has been trying to reassure tourists and businesspeople that the country remains safe in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Casablanca May 16, but at the same time police are reporting numerous phone calls threatening similar attacks at hotels, nightclubs and restaurants in Rabat and other cities. Locals are worried and wondering if such attacks could happen again, and many consider the attacks to be driven by poverty and misery. The country remains in a heightened state of alert.
