The wild is a place of solitude, beauty, danger, and inspiration–and the bond between women and the wild is deep. For many, this bond draws them into a world of risk-taking where the only certain thing is trust, trust in nature, trust in themselves. Women in the Wild introduces true stories by women who have engaged this trust and forayed into the wilderness, explored remote jungle rivers, climbed Mt. Everest, and even survived a shark attack.
Women in the Wild celebrates the joys of women as they connect with something greater than themselves, and are uplifted, strengthened, and made whole. From Ireland to Ecuador to Borneo, these stories reveal the undeniable call of the wilderness, and the extraordinary tales of the women who responded. Join these 33 adventurers as they explore the natural world and the wildness in everyday life.
In Women in the Wild (Updated) readers will:
- Live among Chimpanzees in the African forest with Jane Goodall
