“Paris is one of a handful of cities on earth one should endeavor to know over the course of a lifetime, not just in one or two or even a half dozen visits. Paris—or Parisians—may rebuff you from time to time, but then, that is one of its duties, one of its perverse pleasures. Paris is not lightly seduced, not to be trifled with.”
—From the Introduction to Travelers’ Tales Paris
Paris may be the center of the civilized universe, but it belongs to everyone. The City of Light is a luminous, romantic, and arresting place that visitors never forget. Travelers’ Tales Paris captures that romance through 36 stories about Paris and its environs, stories that touch on all that is unique about Paris: vibrant nightlife, rich and tumultuous history, delectable cuisine, hidden attractions, magnificent art and architecture, and the uniquely Parisian attitude of those who live there.
In Travelers’ Tales Paris readers will:
- Revel in the Left Bank’s literary past with Herbert Gold
- Join a community of van dwellers with Maxine Rose Schur on the banks of the Seine
- Glimpse Marlene Dietrich on a night out in “Gay Paree” with Hanns Ebensten
