Reaction around the world to NATO’s military attacks on Yugoslavia has been vigorous, with demonstrations occurring in several countries, including Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Russia and the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia. There has been support for the attack, however, in the Muslim world. Many of the protests are anti-American rather than anti-NATO, so keep a low profile and avoid such demonstrations. It’s impossible to know how long the conflict will last and whether it will spread beyond Yugoslavia, but while the crisis continues, avoid travel to the Balkan region, including Bosnia and Croatia.
